Raymond “Sully” Farver, 92, of Dixon, IL. passed away March 20, 2011 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born December 15, 1918 in Ashton, Il. son of George Lester Farver and Fannie Bird Farver. He married Lois Kersten November 29, 1944 , she preceded him December 27, 2003. He was a 1936 Graduate of Ashton High School were he excelled in sports - pitcher in baseball and center in basketball. He than served in the United States Air Force during WWII from June 1942 - November 1945 as a Sergeant were he was stationed in Natal Brazil and Assension Island. When he was Honorably discharged he worked as a butcher in Ashton, Franklin Grove and Oregon. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon and a 57 year member of Franklin Grove American Legion. He loved fishing and was a avid Cubs Bears and Bulls fan. He is survived by his two daughters, Merna (Mike) Lang of Oregon, Il. And Janice (Larry) Martin of Polo, Il.; three grandchildren, Suzi (Mike) Haenitsch of Dixon, Il., Aaron Martin of Silvis, Il. And Andy (Katie) Martin of Rockford, Il.; four great-grandchildren, Grey and Sarah-Beth Haenitsch of Dixon and Corbin and Morgan Martin of Rockford. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth and one sister Edith Furman. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday March 26, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church 921 E. Chamberlin St. Dixon, with a one hour visitation prior. Private Burial at Ashton Cemetery.
