Donald M. Halvorson

Donald M. Halvorson, 84, of Ashton passed away March 31, 2011 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. He was born February 28, 1927 in Preston, MN. son of Herman and Mary Halvorson. He married Ora Torkleson April 23, 1955 in Lanesboro, MN. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and had a love for the hunting dog breeds and birds. He is survived by his wife, Ora of Ashton; two sons, Paul ( Tammy ) Halvorson of Dixon, David ( Barb ) Halvorson of Chana; one daughter, Ann (Scott) Rowley of Fontana, WI.; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Dustin) Pulliam, Cassie Halvorson, Jimmy Halvorson, Ryan (Stephanie) Halvorson, Alice Rowley; one sister-in-law, Hazel Halvorson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother, Carl Halvorson and four sisters, Myrtle Beardmore, Mildred Hesse, Gladys Gjere and Ruth Paus. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday April 5, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Ashton with a one hour visitation prior. Pastor Jonathan Black Officiating.
