He served in the United States Navy and was an avid reader. He is survived by his brothers, Douglas McCannon of Georgia, Andrew (Marie) McCannon of Ashton, Il. and Thomas (Karin) McCannon of Texas; three nephews, Jared, Dillon and Sean, and one Niece Christina. Preceded in death by his parents.
