Calvin Sanders

Calvin R. Sanders, 87, of Ashton passed away January 19, 2012 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation. Calvin was born November 3, 1924 in Ashton son of Roger and Julia (Strawbridge) Sanders. He retired from the United States Navy in 1964 where he served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. After retiring he lived Mississippi until he returned to Ashton. He was an avid out doors man and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include one sister Joan Rook of Puyallup, Wa.; many nieces and nephews including his two nieces, JoAnne Meurer of Ashton and Laura Mabel of Ashton who took care of him; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; two granddaughters and two great grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia Herwig; one brother Robert Sanders and one son Toby Walker. The family would like to thank Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Staff for their dedicated care. Private graveside services will be held 10:00 am in Ashton Cemetery.
