Eloise Van Hise

Eloise E. Van Hise, 96, of Franklin Grove passed away March 14, 2012 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation. Eloise was born June 15, 1915 in Ohio City, Ohio, the daughter of Anna Siniff and William Eber. She married Dean Van Hise May 3, 1947 in Rochelle, Il. Eloise was a teacher and librarian in the Lee County school system for 26 years. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teacher Association, National Education Association, Franklin Grove Area Historical Society (Founding member), Living History Antique Equipment Association, China Unit of The Home Extension Association, member of the United Methodist Church of Franklin Grove and a graduate of U of I, MS. 1940. She was a correspondent for many years for the Rochelle News Leader, Ashton Gazette and Dixon Telegraph. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Van Hise of Gleneden Beach, OR.; one brother, F. William Eber of Rochelle and one sister Mary Elizabeth Frooman of Highland Park, Il. and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Van Hise. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday March 19, 2012 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services 704 N. 6th Street Rochelle, 815-562-6872 with Pastor Jin-Ho Hong officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 pm -7:00 pm Sunday March 18, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial at Franklin Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church of Franklin Grove and/or Franklin Grove Historical Society.
