Following a two year battle with stomach cancer, Amos Miller left us peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at Rochelle Community Hospital. He was born on Nov. 21, 1927 in Fairfield, Ill., and married Geneva Floman on Feb. 23, 1952. She preceded him in death in 2004. He and Geneva moved to Steward from English, Ind., and raised their family. He worked for Caron International, the Milwaukee Railroad and Worlitzers. Amos lead a simple life in which he was content being surrounded by the home he and his wife loved, the family they raised and the memories they made together. He is survived by his daughters Othie Ranea Smith of Mitchell, Ind., and Brenda (George) Newman of Steward; sons, Amos Jr. of Steward, and Eldon (Marsha) of Rochelle; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His family finds comfort in knowing Amos has finally been reunited with the one he loved most, his wife Geneva. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A visitation will be held at Denbo Funeral Services in English, Ind., on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.
