Eugene "Red" Ellsworth Hargrave

Death Notice Eugene E. ( Red ) Hargrave 84 of Sandwich passed away at this home on February 5, 2013 . He was born Robert and Marion ( Martin ) on January 29,1929 in Sublette, IL He married Nancy Stanfield on December 29, 1953, they spent 58 years together until her death January 12, 2012. He proudly served his country with the US. Army from 1951-1953. He was a member of the United Church of Sandwich, he was a member of VFW Post 8234 and had retired from Commonwealth Edison after 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending his winters in Ft. Myer Florida with Nancy during his retirement. He is survived by his daughter Terry ( Ken ) Digate of Plano son’s Larry ( Kathi ) Hargrave of TX. Wayne ( Jackie ) Hargrave of Somonauk and Dan ( Lynn ) Hargrave of Hopkinton, MA. Sister Donna Morello of No. Hollywood, CA a brother Charles of CA, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy and a sister Betty Kleinbart. Funeral service will be held Friday February 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Sandwich , IL visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow at Oak Mound Cemetery Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Sandwich.
