Mary E. Knight (95) peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord on February 21, 2013, in Sandwich, Illinois, surrounded by her family. Mary Elizabeth (Reiser) Knight was born February 23, 1917, daughter of the late Irving and Ivah (Milton) Reiser in Toledo, Ohio. Mary attended Toledo, Ohio schools and was a graduate from Fairmont State College, Fairmont, West Virgina with a BA in Education. She was a member of the Gamma Chi Chi Sorority. Mary married Andrew R. Knight, June 17, 1939, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. Andy died December 8, 1984. A Streator resident since 1950, she was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, where she served as Director of Christian Education for 16 years. Mary was a member of the Friendship Circle of Park Church, a member of Chapter FO P.E.O., the E Re Nata Study Club, and Kings Daughters Fidelity Circle. Mary founded and was a member of the Illinois Valley Ostomy Association. Mary was instrumental in the founding of the Surgical Service Department of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary (Streator) where she was a member. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis (Laurie) Reiser. Mary is survived by two children: Robert (Lurene) Knight of Sandwich, Illinois and Carol (John) Gneckow of Helena, Montana. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Terry Knight and partner Dennis Watkins, Karen (Mike) Wendeler; and Lynette (Doug) Overman and Sarah (Branden) Songer; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Carver, Kendall, Skyler and Kohl. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Mary's name to the Federated Church of Sandwich or Park Presbyterian Church of Streator or the American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice. Internment will be at 9 AM in Riverside Cemetery in Streator, Illinois on Friday, March 1. Family and friends are welcome to the visitation at 10 AM at the Park Presbyterian Church in Streator, Illinois, and to the memorial service at 11:00 followed by a luncheon provided
