Donald Leroy Ammons

Donald Leroy Ammons 76, of Sandwich passed away March 22, 2013 with his loving family at his side. He was born on December 19, 1936 in Millington, IL. to the late James and Delia ( Logan ) Ammons. He graduated from Sandwich High School Class of 1954 and from Aurora University with a certificate in Management. He worked at Lyon Metal Products for 52 years He was a member of the Federated Church of Sandwich. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia ( Day ) Ammons. Together they had three children : James ( Debbie ) Ammons, Julie ( Neil DeSilva ) Ammons and John ( Nancy ) Ammons. 7 grandchildren; Britt Ammons, Jaime( Chris ) Wolfe, Clayton Myers, Sanjali DeSilva, Julie ( Dan) Leonardi, Jack ( Stephanie ) Moga and Amanda Bradley. 1 sister Carol ( Phil ) Wagner and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents 2 sisters Barbara ( Lemuel ) Miller and Gail ( Ben ) Abner. Memorial service will be held Monday April 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Federated Church of Sandwich with a visitation held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial maybe directed to the music program of the Federated Church.
