Clara Mae Johnson

Clara Mae Johnson ( Plevka) 92 of Rochelle passed away April 10, 2013 at Rochelle Rehab and Health Care She was born on May 28, 1920 to the late Edward and Mary ( Kusy ) Plevka in Hayward Twp. MN. She graduated from Austin High School and Normal Teaching College. Clara taught school in southern Minnesota for 3 years. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Johnson on June 14, 1942 at Hayward Lutheran Church Hayward MN. Clara worked as a Teachers Aide for Rochelle and Creston Schools for several years, she also worked at Stone’s Hallmark as a clerk until her retirement. She is survived by her children Gregg ( Betty ) Johnson of Lyle, MN. Lois ( Howard ) Smith of Ault, CO. Bonnie ( Joe ) Wright of Evanston, WY. Gloria ( Tim ) Tyler of Waterman, IL and Jeannie ( Jon ) Rohr of Ashton, IL. 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents her husband Woodrow, daughter Marie McIntyre and granddaughter Annette Maggard. Services will be held Monday April 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church Flagg Rd. Rochelle, IL. Rev. Chris Heller officiating. Visitation from 9:30 till the time of service. Graveside service will take place Tuesday April 16 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hayward Cemetery Hayward MN. Memorials maybe directed to the Faith Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice Oregon. All arrangements were entrusted to the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Homes Rochelle, IL.
