Bernice E. Cardot

Bernice E Cardot, 92 of Compton passed away on August 30th, 2013 at Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born on August 10th, 1920 in Allison Iowa to Jake and Gladys(Rush) Arjes. She married James Cardot on March 18th 1939 in Allison, Iowa and was happily married for the next 61 years, until his passing on July 24th of 2000. She was a homemaker and devoted herself to her family. She is survived by her son; Roger (Bette) Cardot of Paw Paw; her brother Richard (Carolyn) Arjes of Arizona; her sisters Helen (Wally) Davis of Rochelle, Betty Cardot of Franklin Grove, and Pat Wyatt of Rochelle. Three sister in laws; Alice, Arlene, and Judy Arjes; three grandchildren: Kim (Matthew) Scott of Rochelle, Susan Cardot of Chicago, and Roger (Teresa) Cardot of Compton. Six great grandchildren: Josiah, Cadence, and Gideon Scott of Rochelle and James, Lindsey, and Wade Cardot of Compton. She was preceded in death by her husband James on July 24th 2000, her son Ronnie Cardot in 1958, sister Lindy Lou Arjes, and five brothers: Allie, Jake, Robert, Donald, and Jerry Arjes. Funeral services for Mrs. Cardot will be Tuesday September 3rd, 2013 At the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home in Rochelle, at 2:00p.m. with Reverend Scott Hawes officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Funeral Home. Interment will be private and will follow at the Melugin Cemetery in Compton.
