Merrill O. Risk

Merrill Oneil Risk 88 of Sandwich, passed away October 14, 2013 at Rochelle Gardens in Rochelle, Illinois. He was born on July 25, 1925 in Mission Township to Martin and Martha (Stanglen) Risk. He married Beverly J. Covert on August 12, 1947 and was happily married for the next 66 years. He was employed at Caterpillar for 25 years as a manufacturer. He loved to woodwork. He also built grandfather clocks for 3 of his grandchildren. He was very meticulous about his yard and worked diligently on it, making it always look beautiful .He was a Master Mason at the Sunbeam Lodge #283 in Sandwich and had received his 60 year pin. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children; Karen J (Paul) Fink, and Dennis M,( Beth ) Risk, his sister Geraldine Houskin, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and six nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Murial Varland, two brothers Ellery and Hillford Risk three nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be Friday October 18 ,2013 at 12:00p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Jonathan Singleton with interment to follow to Oak Ridge Cemetery Sandwich, visitation will be 10:00 am until the time of service.
