William "Bill" G. Kaminski, age 68, of Somonauk, Ill. died on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013. He was born Feb. 23, 1945 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Walter and Antoinette (nee Tencza) Kaminski. Bill was united in marriage to the former Carol Schlorff on Oct. 22, 1966. They spent 47 years together. Bill graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. He attended Prairie State College and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, receiving a degree in criminal science. Bill served his county with the United States Army, and enjoyed being stationed in Germany, and traveling to France and Switzerland while enlisted. He was employed as a truck driver for L. Fish Furniture for 23 years before changing careers to become a union carpenter for 12 years. He was a member of both the Teamster's Local 705 and Carpenter's Local 1539. Bill built several homes for his family members, teaching his son and sons-in-law carpentry skills. Bill and Carol enjoyed traveling. They took several trips throughout the United States, including vacations to Florida with their children and grandchildren. Bill and Carol recently enjoyed visiting Sedona, Ariz. More than anything, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. William is survived by his wife, Carol Kaminski; son, William (Traci) Kaminski Jr.; daughters, Christi (Mark) White, Keri (Ross) Titzel; grandchildren, Kaleb, Antoinette, Charles, Adeline, Kate and Carson; brother, Dennis (Linda) Kaminski; sister-in-law, Pat (Greg) Harms; brother-in-law, Will (Sandy) Schlorff; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Antoinette Kaminski; his step mother, Louise Kaminski; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna Mae and Wilbur Schlorff. Memorial service will be held Saturday November 30, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home Sandwich, IL. with Fr. Andrew Hougan officiating. Visitation will take place same day 2 hours prior to the service.
