Capt. Anna Louise Richter Ashton - Anna L. Richter, 30, of Ashton passed away Tuesday Nov. 26 in her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She fought a strong, but brief fight against cancer. Anna was born in Dixon to Bernard and Tammie (Hicks) Richter on June 29th, 1983. When Anna was 2 1/2 years old her family moved to Ashton, where she attended St. John's preschool, followed by 13 yrs. of school. Anna was very involved sports and had many friends who remained by her side for the remainder of her life. She was employed by Crest Foods for 13 years. Anna was also the Captain of the Ashton Fire Protection District. She joined the department in 2001, serving as a firefighter and an EMT. Anna enjoyed her job at Crest Foods, but her love was in being an active member of the AFPD. She was a caring and compassionate person who always put the needs of others before anything else. On April 13, 2005 she was blessed with the birth of her son, Michael. He was her "Little Man", the light of her life. Anna and Michael had a very special bond. Anna always felt the need to give back to her community and it showed in all of her actions. She loved Ashton and the people, she was deeply moved when everyone came out to show their support for "Team Anna" and "Anna's Army". Anna is survived by her son Michael, her Father, Bernard and brother Adam of Ashton and her Mother, Tammie ( Bruce) Powell of Rochelle. Her Grandmother, Charlotte Wyrick of Rochelle. Anna came from a large family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, neices and nephews. She also many friends and co-workers. The Three Musketeers. She is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents, and Maternal Step- Grandfather, also two of her beloved Uncles and her Special Angel, Ali Lehman. May they receive her in Heaven and keep her for us til we meet again. A Visitation will be held Friday December 6th 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Ashton from 3:00pm. til 6:30 pm. Followed by a Fireman's Service. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial will be held in Dairyland, Wi. at a later date, Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Homes.
