Larry O. Tillman

Larry O. Tillman 68 of Somonauk, IL. passed away December 9, 2013 at Edward Hines VA Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1945 in Chicago to the late Oswald and Gladys ( Jarman ) Tillman. He served his country during the Viet Nam War with the US Army and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of the Leland American Legion, Life time member of the Purple Heart Assoc, GCIU Union and Disable American Veterans. He retired from Colfax Envelope Corp. He married Barbara Kempinski on May 23, 1983 in Lake Co. IL. He enjoyed auto mechanics, antique and classic cars he was the former Vice President of Crusaders Car Club of DeKalb. He loved Western movies, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children; Carrie ( Lyle ) Baldwin of Ottawa, Larry Tillman of Earlville, James Kempinski of Oshkosh, WI., Mark ( Stacy ) Tillman , Christine Tillman both from Decatur, IL. and Michael Kempinski of Fox Lake, WI. Sisters and brothers; Linda ( Tony ) Tillman of Marengo, IL., Barbara ( Jeff ) Krull Mascote, FL. Gayle and Patrick Tillman both of Chicago. Grandchildren; Johnathan ( Sara ) , Kylee, Joey, Charles, Katelyn, Nathan, Samantha, Miranda, Brady, Harleigh, Kevin and Dustin. And 1 great granddaughter Ryleigh. He also leaves behind his special friends Ron and Bonnie McCaslin, Louise Barker, Paul and Theresa. And his beloved dog BOGO Bear. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Jessica Tillman. Funeral services will be held Saturday December14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL. With John Haddock officiating.
