Gertrude Francis Wallis

Gertrude Francis Wallis 88 of Sycamore, formally of Sandwich, passed away January 8, 2014 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. She was born on July 27, 1925 in Sandwich Illinois to James and Zada (Rumney) Shuck. She married Ralph Wallis Sr. on November 10, 1943 in Sheridan Illinois and just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. She loved to dabble in painting and crafting, and wintering in Mission Texas. She is survived by her husband Ralph Sr., her children Ralph (Peg) Wallis of Sycamore Illinois and Rich ( Carolyn) Wallis of The Villages Florida. Her brothers ;Paul (Phyllis) Shuck of Waterman Illinois, Fred (Doris) Shuck of Arizona and her sister, Joanna ( Harold) Capper of Wisconsin; six grandchildren , four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Ione Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Robert (Jeanette), Ralph(Lucille) and Raymond(Sofia) Shuck and a sister Helen (Everett) Casson. Funeral Services will be January 11, 2014 at 12p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich with Pastor Don Ridder officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
