Lonnie C. Siverly 75, of Sandwich IL, formerly of Marshall IL passed early Tuesday March 18, 2014, at Central Dupage Hospital surrounded by his children. Born Sept. 20, 1938 to Ernest and Flora (Brosman) Siverly. Lonnie married Priscilla Myers Dec. 6, 1959 they had 4 children, Mark (Julie) Siverly of Glasgow Montana, Regina (Mark) Scoughton of Sandwich, Ginger (Micheal) Murray of Ottawa, and Kristi (Joseph) Schuerman of Yorkville. Lonnie has 13 grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and close friends. Lonnie was employed at Caterpillar for 33 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the UAW and served as a union steward. Lonnie was a member of the Sandwich Jaycees, Sandwich Sportsman’s Club, and most recently the early morning coffee club at the Sandwich McDonald’s. He was a member of the Plano Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder for many years. Lonnie and his family helped build the church in 1977. Lonnie was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, and most people would think of him as a walking baseball encyclopedia, he also helped his sons little league team. Lonnie was a frequent traveler through Canada & Alaska. He also enjoyed the works of Farley Mowat, a Canadian author. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Shirley Nickles. He is survived by his brother Paul Siverly, of Pensacola FL Visitation is 4-7 pm at the Plano Christian Church, 8 Schomer Lane, Plano IL. March 20th 2014, memorial Service will be at 7 pm immediately after the Visitation. The family asks in lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made to the Plano Christian Church or American Diabetes Association.
