David M. Moore, 75, of Plano and Avon Park, Florida passed away at Florida Hospital in Orlando on May 6th. Dave was born on March 8, 1939 in Henry, IL. to Phillip and Jessie (Dorff) Moore. Dave married Betty (Sterling) in Yakima, Washington on October 26, 1963 where Dave was stationed in the US Army from 1962-1964. Dave worked at Caterpillar in Aurora for 30 years as a laborer and supervisor, retiring in 1990. After retiring, Dave and Betty volunteered since 1994 with the SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready), serving at Christian organizations across the country. Dave was well known for his ability to fix just about anything and was rarely seen without his tool belt and cap. Dave and Betty traveled extensively and had visited all 50 states, Mexico and the Caribbean. Dave was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Plano since 1967. Dave is survived by his wife Betty, sons Richard (Lisa) Moore of Oglesby, David (Lisa) Moore of Yorkville, and his daughter Judy (Peter) Koczo of Plano, six grandchildren: Michael and Kylie Moore of Yorkville, Justin & Jacob Koczo of Plano, Cassie Zokal of Seatonville, and Christopher Moore of LaSalle, Great Grand-children: Jaylynn and Braeden. He is also survived by 4 brothers, John of Arlington, Dick of Reno, Nevada, Henry of Oglesby, Gale of Sterling and sisters Marge Terry and Frances Weyand of Colorado as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Janice Marie in infancy, brothers: Harry, Tom, Dale and sisters Phyllis Burton and Shirley Grubich. Visitation will be at Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich on Friday May 16th from 4-8pm and funeral services will be held on Saturday May 17th at 10am.
