Herbert Lee Carlson

Herbert L. Carlson 71 of Sandwich passed away June 5 2014 at Kishwaukee Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1943 to Herbert and Virginia (Hessler) Carlson in Chicago, IL. He married Mary DeLorier on May 30 1970 in Chicago Il, and spent the next 44 years happily married. Herb served in the United States Navy, serving in Viet Nam and running a river boat on the Mekong River. He was an animal lover. Herb and Mary would travel on weekends showing Siberian Huskies and received Best in Show. He loved Opera and Classical music. Herb worked as a purchasing agent in the Medical field. He is survived by his loving wife Mary; goddaughter Valerie Byots and several cousins. Brother in law and sister in law Joseph and Renee DeLorier, and Richard and Diana Albertini - DeLorier, and sister in law Susan Hopkins. And of course his favorite nephew Joseph ( Jo Jo ) DeLorier. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be Sunday June 8 2014 at 4:00p.m.at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Kaul officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 until the time of service. Private inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery.
