Leroy ( Lee ) Joseph Ernest

Leroy (Lee) J. Ernest 78, of Sandwich, IL. formerly of Brookfield, IL. passed away June 22, 2014 at Valley West Hospital Sandwich. He was born on May 20, 1936 in Chicago to the late Joseph and Frances Ernest. He married his lifelong love Cecile Olsinski on May 9, 1959 in Chicago, and just celebrated 55 years of marriage. He served his country with the Illinois Air National Guard, served as a paid on call Fireman with the Brookfield Fire Dept. He was a parishioner of St. Barbara’s Church, Brookfield and St paul the Apostle Church Sandwich. He retired to Sandwich in 1999, enjoyed living and boating on Lake Holiday with his family. He was an active member of RC Dusters where Lee continued to pursue his lifelong passion of flying model planes. He and his wife Cecile owned and operated Fleetwood Florists in Cicero before retiring. He is survived by his loving wife Cecile of Sandwich, His sons; Michael (Donna) Ernest of Plainfield, IL. and Eric ( Julie ) Ernest of Plymouth, MN., four precious grandchildren; Leann, Daniel, Aaron and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his parents and Sister Judith. Visitation will be held Thursday June 26, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL. Mass will be held Friday June 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church 304 W. Arnold Rd. Sandwich, IL., Father Andrew Hougan officiating.
