Ora Marie Halvorson

Ora Marie Halvorson 83 of Ashton passed away on September 1, 2014 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. She was born on September 20, 1930 in Rushford Minnesota to Ordin and Alice (Ness) Torkelson. She married Donald M Halvorson on April 23, 1955 in Lanesboro, Minnesota . He passed away March 31, 2011. Ora retired in 1990 after 20 years of service to the Ashton School District 275. She received the Distinguished Service Award in 1998. She also had a great love of cats. She is survived by her children; Paul (Tammy) Halvorson of Dixon, Ann (Scott) Rowley of Fontana, WI and David (Barb) Halvorson of Chana, IL. Her grandchildren: Tiffany (Dustin) Pulliam of Fort Worth, TX. Cassie Halvorson of Dixon, Jimmy Halvorson of Crete, IL., Ryan (Stephanie) Halvorson of Marshalltown, IA and Alice Rowley of Fontana, WI, and great grandchildren: Norah Halvorson and Owen Pulliam. Funeral Services for Ora will be held on September 5, 2014 at 11:00a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church in Ashton Il with Reverend Jonathan Black officiating. Visitation will be 9:30a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Ashton Cemetery. Funeral Service were entrusted to Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave. Ashton, IL.
