Clifford Arlie White 98 of Sandwich Illinois passed away September 25, 2014 at his home. He was born on December 22, 1915 to Warner and Leona (Carroll) White in Shirley Arkansas. He was raised by his grandparents, Isaac and Martha Carroll after his mother’s passing at the age of 2. He married Naoma Hedgespeth on January 20, 1944 at the Federated Church in Sandwich and was happily married for the next 70 years. He served in the Army in WWII as a Sergeant and served under General Patten. He worked for the Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline (Trans Canada). He was an avid gardener and raising sweet potatoes. He built several homes in Sandwich and had built a vacation home on Greersferry Lake Arkansas. He enjoyed building windmills and they are scattered all over Sandwich. He is survived by his wife Naoma; his children Pamela (Joe) Hott of Marseilles, Illinois, Joanne Bark and Melinda (Jack) Neumann of Sandwich Illinois; 2 sisters Willie (Shorty) Sullins and Stella (Freland)Rice both of Ball Knob Arkansas, 1 brother Hobert of Jeffersonville, Indiana;7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and a son Charles White who passed away in 1995 and son in law Don Bark. Funeral Services will be Monday September 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m at the Beverage Family Funeral home in Sandwich Illinois with Reverend Sam Hamstra officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery will full military honors. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
