Ronald Eugene Mershon

Ronald ( Ron ) E. Mershon 77, passed away October 15, 2014 at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center Rockford , IL. He was born on March 25, 1937 in Rochelle to the late Stanley and Madeline Mershon. Ron was a 1955 Rochelle Community High School. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1956 -1960. He married his sweet heart Joan Gibson on August 30, 1958 in Rochelle. He worked and retired from Del Monte after 39 years of loyal service. One of his loves was golfing and going to the Rochelle HUBs football and basketball games. He is survived by his loving wife Joan, his son Randy (Michelle) Mershon of Rochelle and his precious grandchildren Reed and Jacob and his sister in law Judy Gibson of Rochelle. Graveside services will be held Saturday October 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lawn Ridge Cemetery with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home 1658 Illinois 2 Oregon, IL. 61061.
