Gary Wayne Wesson

Gary W. Wesson 78, of Rochelle passed away at his home in the arms of his loving family. He was born on April 5, 1936 in Waterman, IL. to the late Wilder Wayne ( Pete ) and Mary Wesson. Gary served his country with Illinois National Guard, graduated from University of Illinois 1958, married his lifelong sweet heart Mavis Stanford on March 14, 1959 in Somonauk, IL. He farmed in Leland and also worked and retired from Caterpillar, Montgomery Il. He served as a Deacon for the Somonauk Baptist Church in charge of the bus maintenance and continued as a Deacon at Harvest Baptist Church in Hillcrest , IL. in the same capacity. He loved his church and taught Sunday school . He is survived by his loving wife Mavis of Rochelle, his precious daughters Carinne (William - Rob) Kuehl of Green Lake WI. Kendra (Jim ) Lemar of Sandwich, IL. Glena ( Chris ) Thompson of Mendota and Tara ( Steve ) Tester of China. 1 sister Sandra Seabright of Leland, IL. 2 brothers Joel (Gwendolyn ) Wesson of Noble, OK and Thomas Wesson of Lombard, IL. he also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandchild Jotham Christensen and brother in-law Robert Seabright. Private Burial has taken place in the family plot at Victor Cemetery in Leland, IL. on Friday November 14, 2014. Public Memorial service will take place Monday November 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Harvest Baptist Church 241 Scott Ave. Rochelle, IL. ( Hillcrest ).
