Vernan ( Patricia ) Maxine Koechig

Vernan Maxine ( Patricia ) Koechig 92, of Ashton passed away at her home May 4, 2015. She was born on May 5, 1922 in Weston, IL. ( now Wheaton, IL ) She served her country with the US Army as a WAC with the rank of PFC, she was assigned as an Entertainment Specialist. She was sent overseas, she received 2 medals, the medal of Victory, Good Conduct and Army Occupation Medal Germany. She also received European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and 2 overseas bars. She married Robert Koechig on November 13, 1947 in Ashton. He preceded her in death July 16, 2003. She is survived by her Niece Barbara ( Howard ) May of Dixon and nephew Larry Koechig of Dixon and her special friend Lois Erickson. Visitation will be Tuesday May 12, 2015 from 10- 11 a.m. at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave. Ashton, IL. Funeral Graveside service will follow the visitation to the Franklin Grove Cemetery with Rev. Farrel Stauffer officiating. Military Honors will be accorded. www.beveragelyonsfamilyfh.com
