George Leonard Primrose 81 of Rochelle passed away June 13, 2015 at Neighbors Rehab. in Byron following a long illness. He was born on September 24, 1933 in Rochelle to Earl and Evelyn ( DeShazo ) Primrose. He attended Rochelle TWP High School, served his country with the US Army as a radio operator in Italy. He worked at Del Monte as a Journeyman machinist and a crossing guard at Tilton School. He was an active member with the Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle. He was married to Marilyn Coffman on September 17, 1954 and spent 61 wonderful years together. George loved feeding squirrels and birds, building and fixing things. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, His children; Leanne ( Don ) Primrose-Brown of Joliet, Tim ( Deanna ) of Byron and Tony ( Tammy ) of Rockwall, TX. Brother; Gerald ( Nona ) Primrose. Grandchildren; Emma, Sara, and Spencer Brown, Kyle and Kelsey Primrose , Ryan and Ashley Primrose and step grandchild Whitney Miller, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Nancy Kay and step grandchild Ryan Miller. Funeral services will be held Friday June 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church Flagg Rd. Rochelle with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday June 18, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle, IL.
