Kenneth Gene Williams

Kenneth Gene Williams, 82, passed away on Monday September 28, 2015 in Sandwich IL. He was born in Mt. Vernon, IL. on December 7, 1932 to Johnson and Lucille Williams. Ken began an apprenticeship in the mason trade during his second year of high school. At age 18 he received his journeyman card as a mason. After his marriage to his high school sweetheart, Maryhellen Detjen, they lived in Arkansas for a brief time and then moved to Aurora, IL. He began work with the Arnold Lies Co., building schools, churches, factories, shopping centers, etc. Following the closing of the Lies Co., he continued working for several different companies in constructing building throughout the Chicagoland area. He moved his family to Sycamore, IL. where they resided for 12 years and then moved to Big Rock, IL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, two brothers and one sister, one son and one step-grandson. He is survived by his wife Nada, his daughter Holly (Marc) Butlett, his son Peter Williams, grandson Anthony (Heather) Butlett, and granddaughter Amanda (Kurt) Haberkamp. Also his step-children; Debra (Mark) Hawkins, Pamela (Richard) Balden, Susan (Andrew) Caprio, Kenneth E Hall, Kristine Booker, 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Latter-day Saints, 100 Hankes Road, Sugar Grove, IL. A viewing will be held at the church from 8:00-9:30 a.m. prior to the service
