John Joseph Scherer

John J Scherer 85 of Sandwich IL. passed away November 8, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on January 27, 1930 to John and Marie (Stouter) Scherer. He served in the U.S. Navy and Past Commander of Plano American Legion Post 395 a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, and he loved his family very much. He is survived by his children; Michael (Marlene) of Borger TX., David of Gurnee, IL. Chris (Ronda) of Plano IL, Stephen (John) of Denver CO., Paul (Jill) Scherer of Springboro OH., and Daniel Scherer of Plano IL., 2 sisters; Kathy McCall and Patricia Scherer, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou who passed away in 2013, his parents, a son John Steven Scherer, a sister Delores Winkler, and a brother Paul Scherer. Visitation for John will be Wednesday November 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be November12, 2015 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will follow at the St Johns Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. with Military Honors.
