Ada L Hanson

Ada L. Hanson of Somonauk passed away on April 12, 2016 after a brief time at Season’s Hospice. She was born on January 24, 1922 in Streator, IL. to Amiel and Margaret Scent. Ada lived in Sandwich and Aurora where she worked for a doctor. She attended Aurora Business College. She belonged to the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sandwich. She graduated from Sandwich High School in 1940. Ada loved sharing memories and photos with family every time they gathered. She will be missed by her friends, her caring church family and special caregiver, Diane Haas. She is survived by her grandson, Brad (Cynthia) Schule and great grandchildren, Alaina and Jacob Montgomery. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and two sister-in-law’s in the Scent family. She is survived by step-son Greg (Connie) Hanson, step son-in-law Denny Kupp, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren from her marriage to Harold Hanson. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Harold Schule and Harold Hanson, son, Gary Schule, daughter-in-law Gloria Schule, grandson, Scott Schule, and step daughter Lana Kupp. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers: Roy, Carl, Wesley, Amiel, Robert, Russell, Walter, Richard, and Norman, two sisters: Ruth Breunig and Roberta Harris, two brother-in-law’s and six sister-in-law’s. Visitation will be at the Salem Lutheran Church on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 9:30-11:00am. with the service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Memorials in Ada Hanson’s name may be given to The Garden Apartments at 405 LaSalle St. Somonauk, IL. 60552.
