Joseph Lee Emmel

Joseph Lee Emmel, 76 of Sandwich, IL. passed away suddenly at Valley West Hospital Sandwich, IL. on May 10, 2016. He was born in Fairmont West Virginia to Thomas and Hazel (Graham) Emmel. He married Carol Moran on January 16 1962 in Mount Lake Park, Maryland. He was employed at EMD Electromotor in LaGrange, IL. building trains for 30 years and would eat his lunch in the trains when he worked which he loved. He worked at the Sandwich Park District, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Sandwich Lodge 1016. He served his country with Army National Guard . He is survived by his wife Carol, his daughters; Susan (David) Enger of Sheridan, IL, Diane (Tim) Loerzel of Yorkville, IL. his brother Harry Thomas (Carolyn) Emmel of Quincy, IN., his grandchildren Matthew Enger, Sarah (Brent) Baker, Colton and Dylan Loerzel, and great granddaughter Lena Jo Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Annette Morgan. Funeral service will be held Saturday May 14th 2016 at Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. at 12:00 p.m. with the Sandwich Moose Lodge 1016 and Brian Emmel will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
