Constance Marie Cater

Constance Marie Cater 67, of Ashton, IL passed away suddenly on June 14, 2016 at Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born in Blue Island, IL on May 31, 1949 to Lester and Frances (Williams) Perkins. She married Jerry A. Cater on August 5, 1967 in Rochelle, IL. Connie resided in Ashton all of her life. She worked at the Rochelle Community Hospital as a nurse’s aide in the OB department for nearly 30 years. She also drove a school bus for over 20 years and prior to her retirement she worked in the Sanitation Dept. of Crest Foods in Ashton. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and her dogs. She is survived by her husband Jerry, her granddaughters Jenna, Kristen and Hailie Bartlett, her sister Peggy (Jim) Messer of Ashton, IL, brother Richard (Pat) Perkins of Nevada, MO, and sister-in-law Toni Perkins of Rochelle. She is also survived by her son-in-law Brian Bartlett and many nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jeri Lynn Bartlett, and brother Les Perkins. Visitation for Connie will be Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home in Ashton, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Judy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashton Cemetery. Memorials can be made to The Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon or to Jerry Cater.
