Kenneth Lee Bushnell 83, of Hinckley, IL died on June 23, 2016. Born on April 13th, 1933, he was the son of Stanley and Eleanor Bushnell. He was raised in Hinckley where he lived all of his life. Ken went to Hinckley schools and served in the Army. He worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker before founding Bushnell Woodworking his own successful business in 1980. He was an avid woodworker and taught many people the very skilled craft of stair building. Ken spent more than 20 years donating his time and efforts to several organizations in Hinckley including the Hinckley Historical Society as well as the Hinckley Park Board. After retirement he enjoyed boating, gardening, carving, restoring antiques and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family members include his wife of 57 years Judy (Podschwit) Bushnell; siblings Roger Bushnell, Richard Bushnell and Sylvia Fenwick; and children Scott (Tammy) Bushnell; Rhonda (Gary) Lambes; and Rodney (Lisa) Bushnell. Four grandchildren Nathan Lambes, Kyle Lambes, Cody Bushnell, and Casey Bushnell as well as four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life. Should friends desire, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Make a Wish Foundation.
