Audrey Joyce (Ford) Hurley, 89, of Sandwich, IL. passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016 at Presence Mercy Center in Aurora, IL with her daughter at her side. She was born on August 9, 1926 in Sandwich IL to Lawrence and Mary (Wallis) Ford Sr. She was raised in Sandwich and Aurora, IL, graduating from East Aurora High in 1945. She went on to study at the Art Institute of Chicago for two years before marrying James R. Hurley on April 11, 1946 in Chicago IL. She enjoyed living in Colorado and Maryland before moving to and living in Florida for 25 years. Audrey returned to Sandwich in 2007 where she has relished being close to her siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is survived by her children: Cindy (Dan) Benua of Portland, OR; James Hurley of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Grandsons, Brandon and Nicholas Hurley of New Smyrna Beach, FL; brother Robert Ford of Somonauk, IL and sisters: Mary Ann Jones of Gaithersburg, MD and Janet Hallstrom of Plano, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband James Ralph Hurley, her parents, her daughter Susan Hurley Weller, and a brother Lawrence (Russ) Ford Jr. Private internment will take place in early August. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends on Sunday, August 7th at the Sandwich Park District between 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
