Frances Jeanette Brown, age 91, of Newark, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Symphony at the Tillers in Oswego. She was born August 17, 1924 at her family farm outside of Newark, Illinois. She was the youngest of nine children. Frances was married to Severt Leroy Brown on February 17, 1948. She was a devoted wife for 68 years and her husband relied on her solid farm business knowledge and intuition in making joint decisions concerning their farming operations over those many years. Both Frances and Severt enjoyed travel and made several trips overseas as well as spending many winters in Arizona. She was a lifelong member of Helmar Lutheran Church and volunteered extensively in her earlier years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie (Johnson) Anderson three sisters, Alvina, Gladys, and Agnes and five brothers, Earl, Roy, Stanley, Orrin and Kenneth. She is survived by her husband and multiple nephews and nieces. Arrangements are being handled by the Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich Illinois. There will be a viewing at the Helmar Lutheran Church on Friday, August 5, from 10am to 12 pm. Following the viewing there will be a memorial service in the church. After the memorial service all are invited to a luncheon in the church basement. A private graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
