Diana M. Milton Born: September 19, 1952 Died: August 12, 2016 Diana M. Milton of Leland, 63, passed away Friday, August 12, surrounded by loved ones. Diana was born September 19, 1952 to Joseph and Jean (Liguz) Krzciuk in Manhattan, New York. She attended Our Lady of Consolation School in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Mater Christi High School in Queens, New York in 1970. She graduated from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York and Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. She retired from AT&T in 1990 to be a stay-at-home mother. She was an avid bingo player and bowler and liked to travel and go on cruises. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing and listening to polkas, doing puzzles, playing card and board games and going to auctions and shopping. Artistic and creative, Diana was gifted at crocheting and sewing and was a talented chef, especially of Polish cuisine. Compassionate and giving by nature, she rescued and gave home to stray animals. Diana was an active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Earlville and frequently donated money and items to various charities. Diana is survived by her beloved daughter Katrina Milton and adopted nephew Robert Damadeo, sister Theresa (Krzciuk) Meketen, brother-in-law Walter Meketen, cousin Linda Czub, nephews Anthony Damadeo and Joseph Damadeo, nephew Christopher Krzciuk, his wife Liz (Burke) Krzciuk and their children Noah and C.J. Krzciuk, niece Jessica Krzciuk, Godson Michael Krzciuk and best friend Jodi Terando. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Krzciuk in 1963, mother Jean Krzciuk in 2007, her brother Theodore “Teddy” Krzciuk in 1988 and her sister Irene (Krzciuk) Damadeo and brother-in-law Anthony Damadeo in 1995. Strong and a fighter until her last heartbeat, Diana will be remembered and severely missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. in Sandwich, Illinois. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 19, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 221 W. Union St. in Earlville, Illinois. A second viewing will be held Monday, August 22, at the Hempstead Funeral Home, 89 Peninsula Blvd. in Hempstead, New York. After a final blessing and prayer service, she will be interred in St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave. in Farmingdale, New York.
