Severt LeRoy Brown, age 95, of Newark, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Symphony at the Tillers in Oswego. He was born February 4, 1921 at her family farm outside of Newark, Illinois. Severt married Frances J. Anderson on February 7, 1948. He was a devoted husband for 68 years. He and Frances relied on each other’s solid farm business knowledge and intuition in making joint decisions concerning their farming operations over those many years. Both Frances and Severt enjoyed travel and made several trips overseas as well as spending many winters in Arizona. He was a lifelong member of Helmar Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Nellie (Severson) Brown, his loving wife Frances (7/31/2016), 1 brother Vernon and his 1 niece and 2 nephews. He is survived by his 12 Nieces and Nephews, caregivers Brenda Christensen and Carmen Dixon and many friends. Arrangements are being handled by the Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich Illinois. There will be a viewing at the Helmar Lutheran Church on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10am to 12 pm. Funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m at the church with Rev. James Molstre officiating. After the service all are invited to a luncheon in the church fellowship hall. A private graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
