Robert John Fisher

Robert John Fisher 79 of Yorkville, Illinois (formerly of Sandwich and Oswego) went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2017. He was born on August 26, 1937 in Elgin, IL. to Avery and Margaret (Francis) Fisher. He attended Sandwich Schools and was in the Army from 1954-1957. On October 6, 1962 he married Karen Hardersen. For 30 years he worked at Caterpillar in Montgomery and retired from there in 1988. Then worked for Figgins Trees and Turf in Oswego for 10 ½ years. He served as an Election Judge in Oswego for 5 years. Everyone will remember his dedication as a loyal Cubs and Notre Dame fan. He will be remembered with a positive attitude and a love of life. He received great enjoyment meeting his friends for breakfast on Tuesday mornings at the Senior Center in Sandwich. His hobbies were traveling and gardening with his wife; going canoeing, morel mushroom hunting, riding ATV’s and fishing in Wisconsin with his son Wade. He is survived by his wife, Karen of 54 years, their son, Wade of Sheridan, IL. his sister Barbara Weber of Montgomery, IL and a niece and 4 nephews and cousins. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for 25 years with grace and dignity and a deep belief in the Lord. Preceding him in death were his parents and his paternal and maternal grandparents and nephew James Weber. Pallbearers will be Scott and Jay Francis, Mark, Matt and Terry Weber and Drew Jessen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Allen, Bud Abens, Walt Rud and Joe O’ Brien. Visitation will be Friday March 3, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home 104 Terry Street Sandwich, IL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. on Saturday March 4, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 406 Walnut Street Yorkville, IL. Funeral luncheon will immediately follow the mass. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Elerding Cemetery in Sheridan with Military rites held. www.beveragefamilyfh.com
