Jean Ann Tourt

Jean Ann Tourt 88 of Sandwich passed away on August 1, 2017 at Sandwich Rehab and Health Care. She was born January 23, 1929 in Hempstead, NY. She graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY in 1950 with a degree in Nursing. She became a public health nurse in Nassau Co. NY. She was united in marriage to Thomas R. Tourt on November 23 1953; they spent 53 years together up until his passing. They moved to Oswego in 1968. Jean was a Kendall Co Public Health Nurse and taught pre natal care, lamaze classes. She worked for Weight Control. She was a member of the Oswego Civic Center, Cancer Society. After retiring they moved to Morrison, IL and then to Anna Maria Island, FL. She loved boating on the Mississippi River, golfing, tennis, downhill skiing, biking, jogging, toll painting, oil painting and water color painting. She collected and polished Agates. She collected Doll house miniatures. She was a member of the Annunciation Church in Anna Maria Island, FL. Most of all she enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Has a love for her cats, loved meeting people and making friends. She is survived by her son’s: Timothy ( fiance’ Maureen O’Malley ) and Jeffrey ( Cindy ) Tourt , grandchildren Tyler, Chad , Bethany , Zeb ( Fiance’ Lindsey McDonald ) and Bradley Tourt. 2 great grandchildren Hailee and Clara. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Step mother Lois, mother Dorothy and step father Richard, husband Thomas, her half-sister Jackie ( Rowe ) Ruxton, nephew William Ruxton, Memorial mass will be held August 12,2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 406 Walnut St. Yorkville, IL. Inurnment to follow to Pavilion Cemetery Yorkville after a lunchean at the church.
