Marge was born the beautiful daughter of Paul and Dorothy Killey on May 31, 1938 in Rockford, IL. She grew up on the family farm in Fairdale, IL and attended Monroe Center High School. She had a very close relationship with her family and had many aunts, uncles and cousins, whom she kept close contact with throughout her life. While she grew up in Fairdale, IL she also lived in Monroe Center, IL and eventually settled in Rochelle, IL with her new husband Richard (Dutch) Pelka. There they raised their three children Patty, Rich and Toni. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and an active member of AA. She always made her life about serving and helping others, either through her work, being there for neighbors and friends, opportunities at the church or supporting people through the AA program. She wore many hats but ended up incredibly becoming an (A) mechanic at the Byron, IL Nuclear Power Plant where she retired. She had a large heart and joyous personality, always had a smile and was a loving, sympathetic and caring person. Her life was filled with family and friends that she loved and whom loved her back. Marge’s most important role was as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She sacrificed anything she could to bring them happiness and always went above and beyond and was available no matter the time of day. She will be greatly missed by all whom life she touched. Marge was preceded in death by her father Paul Thompson Killey, her mother Dorothy Pepper Killey and son Paul Thompson Pelka. She was survived by her husband Richard (Dutch) Pelka, daughter Patricia Coleman, (son in law) Lee, son Richard Pelka, (daughter in law) Sandy and daughter Toni Pelka. Including 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Wunsch, (spouse) Adam, Brian Coleman (spouse) Jennifer, Brittany, Jacob and Allison Pelka and Damon McKenzie. Great grandchildren, Katy Lynn Wunsch, Dylan Anthony Lee Coleman and Emma Rose Kay Coleman. A Memorial Service will be performed on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 am with a luncheon immediately following. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 903 N. Caron Rd., Rochelle, IL 61068 In lieu of flowers the family will be donating any gifts to The American Lung Association.
