Dennis G Shelton

Dennis G Shelton, 72 of Sheridan, IL. passed away at his home on December 27, 2017. He was born to Olin and Allie Shelton on August 28, 1945 in Marshall NC. He married Mary Larson on December 12, 1970 and was happily married until her passing on December 30, 1987. He married Judy Elam on May 5, 2005 and was happily married until his passing. Dennis served his country with the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War stationed in Germany. Dennis loved to hunt, fish and loved being in the outdoors in North Carolina. He especially loved to ride with his friend Roger on his tractor and the annual trips to Minnesota to fish, and Canada to hunt Moose. His greatest love of all was his grandchildren, and his dog, Penny. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children, Rhonda (Bill) Kelley, Dan (Mandy) Shelton, step daughters Jenny (Jeff) White, Wendy Elam, and Tracy (Cory) Robbins, his grandchildren; Anthony, Matthew, William, Angela, Sheyanne, Tehya, and Dakota and one great grandchildren Jasper Henry., his sister Rhonda (Denny ) Hipps of South Carolina and his in laws, Robert and June Elam. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Dale and Kenneth Shelton. Memorial service for Dennis will be at Beverage Family Funeral Home on January 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
