Claude Winston Austin

Claude Winston Austin born February 27,1916, in Ennis Texas, passed away on June 4,2007 at the age of 81 in his home in the presence of his loving wife Dolores,daughter Deborah Jesuit, and granddaughter Hannah Almquist and in the care of Seasons Hospice. Claude was a hard working,loving husband and father who enjoyed the benefits of rural living and loved the home he made for his family. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corpsduring World War II and fought on Iwo Jima. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds incurred there. He was a 60 years member of the American Legion, Paul Stout Post # 127 of Murphysboro, Illinois. He is survived by his wife,Dolores of 50 years and his son Michael Claude Austin and his daughter Deborah Louise Jesuit ( Austin ), 2 Granddaughters,Hannah Almquist and Ashley Austin and 2 Step-Grandchildren, Eric Hildebrand and Jessica Hildebrand. He is preceded in death by his father Ashley A. Austin in 1975 and his mother, Helen Louise Austin ( Feagins ) in 1992. Cremation Rites have been accorded to the families wish. Funeral services will be held privately.
