James ( Jim ) Knox 72, of Sandwich passed away in his sleep at his home. He was born on May 20th 1935 in Mendota to Virgil and Doris Knox. He graduated high school in Sandwich,he also graduated from Elgin Watchmakers College. He served in the U.S. Army, also an EMT with the Sandwich Ambulance Service and Sandwich Fire Dept for 15 years. He served as an Alderman with the City of Sandwich and Police Commissioner. He loved to hunt and fish. He and Joni owned Knox Jeweler for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Joni, his mother Doris, a sister JoAnne Copes. His children Julie (Guy)Pearson, Jerri (Jim) Kuhn, Jill (Joe) Gentile and Jay Knox. And 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father. Memorial service will be held at the Salem Lutheran Church Friday September 14th at 11:00 a.m. with Carol Gates officiating. Visitation will be Thursday September 13th from 4-8 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home Sandwich Chapel.
