Earl F. Wernick

Earl F. Wernick, 96, of Ashton, passed away July 24, 2008 at home. Earl was born February 15, 1912 in Dixon, Il., son of Stanley and Mary (Daley) Wernick. He married Rowena in 1941. Earl loved electronics and was a Lee County history buff. He is survived by one son, Gerald (Shirley) Wernick of Mitchell, Il.; four grandchildren, Julie Torgerson, Kathy Somers, Gregory Wernick, Randall Wernick; six great-grandchildren, Nigel, Crystal, Rachel, Shane, Katy, Brittany; and four great-great-grandchildren. Earl is preceded in death by his wife Rowena; two brothers, Ernest and Vernon; and two sisters, Avis and Betty. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday July 29, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ashton, Il., with Pastor Jonathan Black Officiating. Interment Ashton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Ogle County Hospice and/or St. John Lutheran Church.
