Dorothy Mae Yocum

Dorothy Mae Yocum, 93, of Franklin Grove, passed away September 23, 2010 at KSB Hospital surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born April 24, 1917 in Franklin Grove, Il., daughter of John and Augusta ( Haenitsch) Butterfield. She married Donald E. Yocum January 4, 1936 in Dixon, Il., Dorothy enjoyed her family, going to church and other organizations she belonged to and dining out with her friends. She was a gift and her children were blessed that she was a stay at home mom. She is survived by four sons, Melvin Yocum of Franklin Grove, Merle Yocum of Amboy, Dallas (Sandra) Yocum of Polo and Delbert (Sharon) Yocum of Franklin Grove; one daughter, Donna (Raymond) Ward of Oregon, Il; one sister Blanche Josephsen of Dixon; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. The family wishes to thank the staff at Franklin Grove Nursing Center for their loving care and Dr. Myers and the KSB Hospital staff for their care and support. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday September 27, 2010 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave. Ashton, Il. 815-453-2441 with Pastor Vernon Dean officiating. A visitation will be held 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday September 26 at the funeral home. Interment at Franklin Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
