Charles Lee Spencer

Charles L. Spencer, 91, of Rochelle, passed away January 26, 2010 at Rochelle Rehab & Health Care Center. Charles was born June 23, 1918 in Oblong, Il., son of Charles and Claudia Spencer. He married Virginia Robertson October 2, 1981 in Oregon, Il.. Charles loved singing and performing bluegrass music for others, he loved to garden, work with wood and travel. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Rochelle; daughter, Shirley (Jerry) Withrow of Rochelle; sister, Belva Rodgers of Whitwell, TN.; three step children, Diane (Richard) Mitchell of Turrell, TX., Ricky (Kathy) Tyner of Rochelle and Randy Tyner of Rochelle; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister and one step-son. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday January 30, 2010 at First General Baptist Church 504 S. 12th Street, with Pastor Angelo Bounacquisti officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
