Gertrude Elizabeth Bain

Rochelle - Gertrude E. Bain, 97, of Rochelle, passed away April 27, 2007 at home. She was born August 7, 1909 in Rochelle, Il.. Daughter of Elmer G. Davis and Olga Binz. She married Anges D. Bain on May 16, 1931 in Rochelle, Il. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Rochelle, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Flagg Township Historical Society and Friends of Library. She worked for Century of Progress World’s Fair Chicago, Flagg Township Library and was a music teacher for many years in Rochelle. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Jean (the late Chesley P.) Erwin of Wisconsin and Gretchen A. (John E.) Hawkins of Oregon, Il., one sister, Margurite Thomas of Rochelle and two grandchildren: Lyndsay and Patrick Bain. Preceded in death by her husband, one son: Robert Andrew, two sisters: Mary Orner and Virginia Kelley, and one brother: Elmer Davis. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday April 30, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father David Peck Celebrant. Interment St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
