Evelyn Brewer

Evelyn R. Brewer, 84, of Rochelle, passed away August 23, 2008 at Rochelle Gardens Care Center. Evelyn was born April 3, 1924 in Waterman, IL. Daughter of Hazel (Madison) and Arthur Houghtby. She married Julius M. Brewer October 10, 1941 near Shabbona. Survivors include one daughter, Julie (the late Allen) Lyle of Rochelle; two sons, Robert Brewer of Aurora and Jim (Laura) Brewer of Schaumburg; six grandchildren, Jeana (Todd) Abbott, Daniele (Joe) Norris, Tim Lyle, Jennifer (Frank) Grebas, Nicole (Jermey) Garas and Jamie (James) Bingham; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Julius; and one son-in-law, Allen Lyle. Memorial visitation from 2:00pm to 3:00pm Memorial service at 3:00 pm Sunday September 7, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, with Rev. Dr. John G. Hamilton and Rev. Dr. James A. Tilley officiating. Cremation will take place privately prior to memorial service.
