Helen M. Bunger

Helen M. Bunger, 97, of Ashton, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. Helen was born March 5, 1911 in Ogle County, Il., daughter of Adam and Mary (Sandrock) Pfeiffer. She married the late William F. Bunger March 5, 1936 in Ashton, Il. Helen is survived by three sons, Warren (Glenda) Bunger of Rockford, Il., Lowell (Suzanne) Bunger of Byron, Il., and Gary (Beverely) Bunger of Ashton Il.; one daughter, Norene Wuchte (Larry Hageman) of Rochelle, Il.; one brother, Wayne (Guyla) Pfeiffer of Ashton, Il.; two sisters, Irene Lawson of Ashton, Il., and June Eich of Franklin Grove, Il.; six grandchildren, John (Lynn) Bunger, Joshua Bunger, Katie Bunger, Jason (Valesia) Bunger, Nicole Bunger and Erica Wuchte; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bunger, Zachariah Bunger, Jacob Bunger, Lindsey Hayes, and Nolan Bunger; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William; one daughter, Myrna Bunger; two brothers, Glenn Pfeiffer and Kenneth Pfeiffer. Funeral service will be held 1:30 pm Saturday June 7, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ashton, with Pastor Jonathan Black officiating. Interment at Ashton cemetery. A visitation will be held 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday June 6, at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave, Ashton 815-453-2441. A one half hour visitation will be held at the church prior to service. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church and/or St. John Lutheran Church Pre-School in Ashton.
