Crystal Lake - Shirley Ann Furrow Toole, 73, of Ashton, IL, died May 25, 2008, at Fair Oaks Health Care Center. She was born December 30, 1934 in Woodford County to Caldwell and Alma Furrow. Shirley attended El Paso High School, and graduated from Mennonite School of Nursing. She married Donald Toole of Secor, IL on March 31, 1956 in St. Louis, MO. Shirley was loved by all that knew her for her honesty and her sense of humor. She was a friend and confidant, an extraordinary wife, mother , grandmother , and great-grandmother. Her gift was sharing her love. She worked many years as a registered nurse, was attendance clerk at McHenry East Campus High School, and once owned McHenry’s Favorite Sports Center. She loved her church, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don; two children, Steve (Kim) Toole of Ashton, Lisa (John) Connell of Crystal Lake; six grandchildren, Emma and Anna Toole, Maddison Connell, Amanda (Chris) Young, Amy (Rich) Simone, and Ashley (Tony) Huffines; three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Madilyne, and Rachel Simone; one brother Wallace ( Lorene) Furrow and sister Judy Stimpert of El Paso, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Douglas Toole, and her parents, and brother-in-law Ronald Stimpert. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday May 29, at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso, IL, with a one hour visitation prior. Pastor Farrel Stauffer will officiate. Burial at Secor Cemetery in Palestine Township. A visitation will be held 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday May 28 at Ashton United Methodist Church.
