Velda K Harms

Valda K. Harms, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2008. Valda was born to Gale and Florence (Dickens) Files of Iowa. She married Gerald J. Harms of Rochelle October 22, 1938. They had four children, Gerald R Harms (Bonnie Ward) of Roscoe, Il., the late Brenda Harms Carter ( Mel Carter Sr.) Of Dixon, Il., Gary L. Harms ( Susan Voss) of Machesney Park, Il., and Darrel A. Harms of DeKalb, Il.. She is survived by her three children, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and three nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald J. Harms; one sister, Lela Finkboner; her daughter, Brenda Cater and one nephew, Roger Finkboner She loved and attended Chana United Methodist Church until she moved from her home in 2001. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday February 26, 2008 at Chana United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rich Fassig officiating. Interment at Trinity Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held 5:00pm - 8:00pm Monday February 25, 2008 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle, Il.
